Steven J Wininger, MD, FACOG, CCTI (top left)
Dr. Wininger graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in 1993. For two years he taught on the clinical faculty as an associate professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Margarets Hospital in Boston before entering private practice in Phoenix. Dr. Wininger was chairman of the Department of OBGYN at Paradise Valley Hospital where he presently serves on the Board of Directors. He is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Certified Clinical Trial Investigator.

Dr. Wininger is the Medical Director of Clinical Research at The Arizona Wellness Center for Women. He is a skilled laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeon and is dedicated to uncompromising pregnancy care and patient education. Preventive medicine, minimally invasive therapies and the development of novel therapies through clinical research are the cornerstones of his practice.

Dr. Wininger is a passionate music lover and, in fact, holds a bachelor's degree in music and piano performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He is married, raising three daughters and enjoys writing music.

NANCY B. HARRIS, M.D. F.A.C.O.G. (lower right)
Dr. Harris graduated from Brown University in 1982 and earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in 1986. She completed her residency training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland and was in private practice before moving to Arizona in 1993.
DR. Harris was chairman of The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2003-2005 and was the OBGYN community physician representative for Cigna Healthcare’s Woman’s Department. She was chosen by Scottsdale residents as a “top Doctor” in 2004 and received the same honor by Castle and Connolly Medical Ltd. Dr Harris’ expertise includes the latest techniques in laparoscopic surgery with particular emphasis on hysterectomy and uterine ablation. She particularly enjoys working with infertile couples as well as practicing obstetrics. “One of the most satisfying parts of being a doctor is helping to bring newborn babies into the world”.
Dr. Harris is married and has two teenage daughters. She is an avid skier, loves to workout at the gym and enjoys creating original jewelry.

Valerie Sorkin-Wells (lower left)
Dr. Sorkin-Wells has been practicing in the valley since 1986 after completing an obgyn residency in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University (GO BUCKS) and received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. She is the wife of pediatrician Joseph Wells, MD and the mother of three teenagers.
Dr. Sorkin-Wells interests are varied. Her surgical repertoire of minimally invasive procedures includes laparoscopic hysterectomy and bladder suspension, uterine ablation and Essure, the new non-incision permanent contraception. She has particular expertise in hormone replacement therapy, infertility, PMS and endometriosis.
Dr. Sorkin-Wells served as Chairman of the Department of OBGYN at Phoenix Baptist Hospital from 1992-1994 and has been on the Medical Executive Committee of Paradise Valley Hospital since 1998. She was voted “Top Doc” in Phoenix Magazine in 2003. “I feel very privileged to be part of my patients’ lives,” says Dr. Sorkin-Wells. “In sharing their most joyous moments and sometimes their most difficult experiences, my patients make my job truly unique and rewarding.

RODNEY H. SMITH, M.D. F.A.C.O.G (top right)

Dr. Smith graduated from Southern University School of Medicine in 1979 and following an internship in Chicago, he complete his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in 1982. "Complicated obstetrics is my area," say Dr. Smith. "Listening to patients and their families makes me a better doctor. When I listen, I learn; then I can help." All of our doctors and support staff agree with this philosophy. Dr. Smith served as chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Phoenix Baptist Hospital from 1992 to 1996 and served on the clinical faculty at the Kirksville Medical School. He has taught family practice residents at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. He has done extensive research as a clinical investigator for numerous drug trials and has been a physician in the valley for greater then ten years. Rod has three daughters and enjoys playing golf.

Heather L. Roth, M.M.S. PA-C (top middle)

Heather graduated for the University of Arizona in 1996 and then went on to Midwestern University for her masters and Physicians Assistant Degree. She graduated in 1999 with her Masters in Medical Science and is a board certified Physician Assistant. She is also on the adjunct faculty at Midwestern University. "My goal is to make patients feel very comfortable with me," says Heather. "I enjoy educating my patients about wellness and disease prevention. Heather was a primary care P.A. before specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Heather was born and raised in Phoenix and now lives with her husband and son in Scottsdale, Arizona.
